Great things to see

1. Cairde Festival - The popular festival is running from Saturday for a week and there is so much in store.

The theatre's 2019 programme has something for everyone, from music to conversation to cultural talks. Over 50 events spanning music, theatre, visual art, literary, street theatre & family events will take place over eight days at this year's Cairde Sligo Arts Festival. The Park Fest takes place on Sunday with a carnival atmosphere for young and old alike. Full programme is on www.cairdefestival.com

2. Cairde Visual at The Model

The Model presents Cairde Visual, Cairde Sligo Arts Festival's sixth annual open submission exhibition. Building on two years of successful partnership with Cairde SAF, this dynamic and colourful show features work from both Irish and international artists across a broad range of media. Opening reception Saturday from 6-8pm and the exhibition runs until August.

3. Charity Golf

Play golf for free on Fridays at Castle Dargan throughout July with proceeds going to Sligo Social Services. The hotel is offering their 18-hole Championship, Darren Clarke designed Golf Course free of charge every Friday afternoon. 4. Trad@lunch

The popular lunchtime music session is back in the Hawk's Well on Wednesday at 1pm. It features features Siobhan O'Donnell, Stephen Doherty and David Doocey. The event runs until August.

5. Sligo Rovers Summer Camps

The popular Sligo Rovers summer camps in the Showgrounds are back, proudly sponsored by the Sligo Champion. Running from July 1st to August 23rd. See www.sligorovers.com to book.

6. Spider Man: Far From Home

Peter Parker returns in the next chapter of the Spider-Man: Homecoming series, starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Samuel L. Jackson, Tom Holland Zendaya. Out July 2nd in Sligo Omniplex.

7. Tina Brooks at the Hamilton Gallery

Artist Tina Brooks bases her paintings on the Strandhill peninsula. Her insightful exhibition runs from July 4th to the 27th at the Castle St gallery.

8. carraroe Community Centre dance

Learners and experienced dancers are welcome to come along to the dance classes with a live band on Wednesdays in the Carraroe Community Centre from 8:30pm.
