Creativity exhibition is open from today in library
The Next Chapter, an exhibition of art and craft highlighting creativity in the community is to open this evening (Tuesday, 6th) at 6pm at the Community Library in Tubbercurry.
The event has had a very positive response from local artists and promises to be a real delight for visitors. The exhibition will run from March 6th to March 10th and is a fringe event of the Western Drama Festival. Donal Tinney, Sligo County Librarian and Curator of Sligo County Museum will host the opening event and the exhibition itself will be officially opened by local artist, Nick Miller. He lives and works in North Sligo.
The response from artists to exhibit at The Next Chapter invitation has been overwhelming. Anne Anne Marie Hegarty of the organising committee said: "We will have lots of creative art on display and within that, lots of variety. From paintings to bog oak sculptures to live performances. We are very excited about what has developed under the idea of this fringe event. The Western Drama Festival is celebrating 75 years in existence this year and our idea was to reflect creativity in the community, going forward. Suffice to say, there is lots of it."
The Next Chapter art and craft exhibition opens today March 6th at 6pm and runs (library hours) up until March 10th.
