Benbulben Players hit the stage this Saturday night

Benbulben Players are back after their very successful inaugural variety night with their second variety night, to take place in the Community Hall in Rathcormac on Saturday, 2nd of March at 8pm.

Tickets at the door: €10 per adult, children under 16 free. There will be dancing, singing, monologues and more besides. There will be tea / coffee available at the interval.

The second half of the night, the drama group will present their One Act Comedy Play, "A Wolf By the Ears" by Mattie Lennon. Directed by Paul J. Nugent on his directorial debut, the play promises to have you laughing to within an inch of your life.

Hughie Doherty is a young Irish farmer who makes up doggerel as a pastime.

Those who don't know any better call him a poet.

He gets into conflict with the forces of law and order when he is arrested for a crime that hasn't been committed.

Because the cell in which he is detained is inadequately sound-proofed, he learns that, in fact, he has the upper hand.

Cast: Sargent Marty Murphy: Gene O'Carroll. Garda William Kilgallon: Niall Brennan. Garda Paddy Black: Hubert Keaney. Bangarda Lisa Smith: Emma Brennan. Mairead Friel: Cindy Elliot. Hughie Doherty: Paul J. Nugent.
