Ballygawley to stage village's first music festival
Ballygawley is preparing to stage its first ever music festival this weekend.
The country music festival is taking place from Friday right through to Sunday.
It is being held in the Marquee in Ballygawley and huge crowds are expected to attend.
Some of the top names in the country music scene will be performing.
On Friday, July 19th, Jim Devine and Band will be headlining with support from Vivian O'Louglin and No Regrets Band. There is a jiving competition for 30 minutes, with registration at 9pm. Tickets are €15. Then on Saturday night, Johnny Brady and his band will be taking to the stage. Support comes from Ronald Anderson and Staring Down Comets Band. Tickets are priced at€20. On Sunday night, Mike Denver and band will be entertaining the crowds.
There will be support from Michael Walsh and Shauna McStravock in the Marquee.
Tickets are €20. Speaking prior to the event, one of the organisers Cllr Thomas Walsh said everyone in the community is looking forward to the music festival.
He explained: "This is an exciting time for the community as every bed and bedroom is booked up.
"We have a chance to show case our area while raising much needed funds for our Community Park".
Gates will open at 7.15pm each night and there will be a shuttle bus in operation from Sligo town, Dromahair, Ballintogher and Collooney. Tickets are on sale on www.eventgen.ie/ballygawleymusicfestival.
