Elvis, Bewitched and Sisters of Mercy are among the acts getting ready for this Saturday's Stars in their Eyes fundraiser in the Clayton Hotel.

Expect lots of sequins and glitz for the local take on the hit tv show, with all the proceeds going to Calry/St Joseph's GAA Club's fund for developing their pitch.

There will also be lots of entertainment with some of the acts doing lip syncing too.

There are 13 acts all from the area ready to don their glamorous outfits and have perfected their stage personas for the event.

Tickets are selling fast and are priced at €10.

Dale Thomas is MC for the night.

Numerous fundraisers are being held throughout the area, from cakes sales, raffles, 5KM run, table quizzes and bingo.

This Saturday is the major event to raise money for the Calry/St Joseph's pitch.

There are plans to re-do the pitch which needs some work to have it spruced up for next year.

The slogan for the initiative is 'a pitch we can be proud of'.

The excitement is building within the club as the acts are preparing to take to the stage this Saturday.

Hypnotist Dale Thomas is from Derry and regularly tours the country with his shows. He should bring some light hearted entertainment to the fundraiser.

Come along and support this important fundraiser for the club. The Star in their Eyes is on from 8pm.

Don't be the one who missed this cracker that will be talked about for decades and pick up your tickets now. Tickets can be bought from Daveys Store Hazelwood, Regional Stores Ballinode, Sherlocks Butchers Cartron or from any of the acts or committee members.

A raffle will take place on the night with first prize being an all expenses paid holiday to Spain. Numerous other prizes on the night too. For more information, contact Edel Hackett on 087 2490006.
