Sligo company Get Up and Go Publications Ltd has been Named All-Star Best in Class Inspirational Publication 2022 by the All-Ireland Business Foundation.Their successful and expanding range of inspirational/motivational diaries and journals are designed to help people to live better lives, encouraging us to ‘think differently’ and live life to its fullest potential. Their unique formula has proved a smash hit with its ever-increasing readership.

Eileen, the Co-Founder and Creative Director, is highly selective in her choice of quotes and messages – ensuring these great words, spoken by great people, continue to inspire, motivate, encourage and empower readers of all ages to ‘get up and go’ and achieve their goals and dreams in life. One of her favourite quotes, that she includes every year, is “Do not ask the world what it needs. Ask yourself what makes you come alive – and go do that. What the world needs is people who have come alive”. (Howard Thurman). Eileen, a former Consultant Anaesthetist in Sligo General Hospital, is all too aware of the ‘end result’ of some of our unhealthy thinking and habits. “If we can think differently, we can act differently, and we will have different results. I’m very glad I ‘changed my thinking’ about smoking all those years ago. In fact I have had two cigarettes since 1993 – one when I climbed Kilimanjaro – and one when I reached Everest Base Camp – both in 2002. Neither climb would have been possible for me had I continued to smoke, and they were two of the most amazing experiences of my life.

“What makes me come alive right now is the thought of growing the business to reach and positively impact many more people around the world. We have been incredibly successful it Ireland – it’s time for us to spread our wings. In this digital age it is possible to reach into every corner of the world”. Get Up and Go were recognised with their fifth Business All-Star accolade at the All-Ireland Business Summit at Croke Park.
