Sligo’s Italian Society marks its 30th anniversary

There was a special celebartion at the Building Block in Sligi last Thuirsday evening as the Sligo Amicizia Society celebrated its 30th anniversary.
Amicizia the Italian Society Sligo has been running continuously in the town for the 30 years having been started by by Luisa McConville to teach Italian to some friends.
It soon developed into a society for those interested in all things Italian and it organises many social and cultural events too including a members’ study trip to Italy at Easter.
Italian lessons remain the main activity and with classes for beginners, improvers and advanced.There are also film nights, food nights and a Christmas gathering.
