AbbVie’s tenth best work place award

AbbVie, which employs approximately 2,600 people across eight sites in Ireland, including two in Sligo, was also named one of the top 30 Best Large Companies in Ireland at the awards, ranking 25.

The Great Place to Work Institute assesses the policies and practices in place in organisations under nine key areas including employee development, hiring practices, employee achievement recognition, and communication. It then benchmarks these against other organisations in each country.

The Institute has also recognised AbbVie as a Best Workplace for Women for the fourth consecutive year in 2022 and was one of 17 organisations included in the inaugural Best Workplaces in Pharma and Healthcare.

AbbVie’s Country HR Director, Gary O’Mahoney said: “I am incredibly proud that AbbVie Ireland has been named a Best Workplace Laureate. When AbbVie was founded in 2013, we set out to develop a people-focused and inclusive culture that would make AbbVie a great place to work. Ten years on, our culture remains a differentiator for AbbVie, and we continually engage with our employees to ensure the high trust culture that we have developed over the last decade continues to evolve.

The Great Place to Work Institute publishes three different lists at its annual awards, including the Best Large Workplaces in Ireland (>301 employees). AbbVie was joined by 30 other companies on companies this roll call.

Companies are largely ranked in order on these lists using information confidentially supplied by employees.

Two-thirds of each workplace’s score comes this Trust Index Employee Survey, with up to one third of the remaining marks based on a company-wide Culture Audit undertaken by the Great Place to Work Institute.
