Quay crash leads to major tailbacks

A motorcyclist was injured in a crash on New Ross quay on Wednesday which lead to major tailbacks.

A motorcyclist and car collided at Sugarhouse Lane at 7.40 a.m. and the motorcyclist was taken by ambulance to hospital for treatment to a leg injury.

Gardaí closed a lane of traffic outside Molloy's Supervalu leading to lengthy tailbacks along the N25 stretching out along the Campile road and up Rosbercon Hill.

The tailbacks dissipated by 9 a.m.

Sergeant Eddie Wilde said an investigation is under way into the cause of the accident.
