Travel contrast is highlighted in Eilish’s prints
The author Peter Murphy officially opened a thought-provoking exhibition of prints at the Presentation Centre in Enniscorthy entitled 'Somewhere to Live' by artist Eilish McCann recently.
The exhibition looks at the subject of enforced travel by immigrants in contrast to the excitement of travel for holidays and adventure. Originally from Co. Cavan, Eilish now lives and works in Enniscorthy producing drawings, prints and paintings and exhibits widely in Ireland and abroad.
Last year, she was shortlisted for the Hennessy Portrait Prize at the National Gallery of Ireland.
