New Ross Singers and The Nomads are performing in the Horse and Hound, Ballinaboola, on Tuesday, June 11, in a one-off concert called 'Night of Nostalgic Hits' - all in aid of New Ross Community Hospital.

Many local residents have good reason to be thankful for its continued existence so this is a chance to combine a night out with support for a good cause. In order to provide modern standards of care, the hospital continues to improve its facilities and needs the support of the community which it serves.

Two acts will share the stage in a night of nostalgia designed to keep the audience entertained.

Not everyone will be familiar with the great Slogadh festival, which at its height attracted over 50,000 young people from all over Ireland. CBS New Ross was at the forefront of this, and the school enjoyed great success in the Irish rock band section.

Local band The Nomads had its roots in the Slogadh festival and many people will be thrilled to hear that they will be getting together again on Tuesday night in aid of this great cause. At the time of writing the line-up was set to include Sean Connick, David O'Brien, Dermot Kehoe, John Aylward, John Mernagh, Tomas Kavanagh and Peter Prendergast, among others.

New Ross Singers will perform well known hits from the Seventies and Eighties, including songs by Billy Joel, Freddie Mercury, Abba etc.

Since Christmas the Singers have concentrated on rock classics arranged for choirs. It has been an enjoyable six months and the members are looking forward to showing off their new repertoire.

So why not come along tonight and support your Community Hospital at 8 p.m. in Ballinaboola?
