A community celebration of dance saw a group of women wearing colourful skirts perform at New Ross Library Park.

Moving Skirts are a free community dance class based in Fasseroe, Bray. Their motto is 'All ages, all nationalities, all together'.

A crowd enjoyed their energetic blend of dance movements from Arabic, Balkan, Spanish and Indian traditions, using 25 yard skirts, fans, veils, canes and swords on a beautiful summer's day. Dancing to celebratory music, they held the crowd rapt. A New Ross Library spokesperson said: 'This spectacular event was a beautiful fusion of dance and cultures and took place in the glorious sunshine of Library Park. A great crowd of all ages attended.'
