High flying Peter Pan drama Hooks crowd
Horeswood Musical Society brought all of the magic of J.M. Barry's Peter Pan to the stage of Campile Hall for four nights of fantastic entertainment recently.
With a formidable cast of 100 ranging in ages from 7 to 22 years, the colourful and exciting show featured some wonderful dance routines and vocal performances.
Audience members revelled in the antics of the mustachoied Captain Hook, played with cartoonish charisma by Peter Rothwell and Pan, played by the wonderfully talented Julie Ronan, while the Darlings and Tiger Lilly (played by Amy Ennis) kept everyone entertained.
Producer and director Catherine Power did a great job in weaving the story threads together, while Sabrina Hanrahan's musical direction was also notable for its excellence.
The talented cast led by Julie Ronan, Niamh Lyng as Wendy and Peter Rothwell as Captain Hook worked very hard over the past few months and were rewarded for their efforts, as were the 97 other cast members, by the great reception the show received in Campile Hall.
This year all money raised from the show is going to Pieta House in Waterford.
