Country dancing weekend

It's time to dust off your dancing shoes and get ready to visit Clayton Whites Hotel during the first three days of March for a Super Country Music Weekend organised by the musician and singer Paddy o' Brien.

Five dances will be held during the weekend of Friday, Saturday and Sunday, March 1, 2 and 3, starting on Friday night with Paddy and his band, followed by Barry Kirwan and his band with special guest John Hogan.

On Saturday night, Paddy and his band will be joined by Robert Mizzell and his band plus special guest Mick Flavin and on Sunday night, they will be followed by the Jimmy Buckley band with special guest Susan McCann.

Dancing on Friday and Saturday will be from 9.30 p.m. to 1 a.m. with doors open at 8.30 p.m. Dancing will be earlier on Sunday night from 8.30 p.m. to 12 midnight with doors open at 8 p.m.

There will also be afternoon dancing on Saturday afternoon with Tony, Teresa and the Stars and on Sunday afternoon with Shaun Loughrey and his band. The afternoon dances will take place from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. with doors open at 2.30 p.m.

This is the 25th year that Paddy has staged his annual Country Music Weekend which is a highlight of the year for country music and dancing fans at venues around the country.
