A fun Dare to Care night in Brad Óg’s pub raises €2,200
A crowd of Adamstown women and one man got dressed to the nines for a Dare to Care night in aid of the Irish Cancer Society in Adamstown recently, raising in excess of €2,200.
Held in Brad Óg's pub, the night was organised by Linda Duffy.
Four women arrived wearing wedding dresses, with most turning out in evening and Debs dresses. Pat Cleere from Ballywilliam released his inner diva with a stunning number and afterwards Linda thanked Pat for spending so much time getting ready.
'I asked him to sponsor me and he said he would go one further,' she said.
Everyone enjoyed an 80s disco into the early hours of the morning. Fiona said she organised the event, iUn conjunction with the Today FM Dare to Care fundraising initiative, to help raise money for cancer research, as she lost her father Joe Bradley to cancer a decade ago. 'More than €2,200 has been raised, with money still coming in. I want to thank the people who came along and got into the spirit of the night and to everyone who collected money through sponsorship cards and everyone who donated prizes including Cullen's Gala, Adamstown Pharmacy, the Ferrycarrig Hotel, Kathleen Butler, Pat Walsh, Lisa Egan, Tom Bradley, Beechdale Garden Centre, and of course I want to thank Bernie in Brad Ógs. I was thrilled with how it went,' Linda said.
