Festive cheer in Campile as Santa Claus comes to town
There was festive cheer in Campile for the switching on of the Christmas lights.
Accompanied by his helpers and led by the Campile Pipe Band Santa set out from the top of the Village in an open top vintage car supplied and driven by Danny Brennan. There was great excitement from all the children who had eagerly been awaiting seeing the man in red who took up his position in Santa's Grotto where he was busy for the afternoon.
There were some 30 craft stalls on display at Campile Hall from various sorts of food items to Christmas gifts with many stalls sold out before evening. Members of the Power School of Dance provided enterainment during the day and a monster raffle was also held with prize winners being 1st Ann Marie Shalloe Great Island, 2nd Greta O Connor Monachee, 3rd Rosaleen Halligan, Fisherstown, 4th Georgina Rowe Killmannock and 5th Ann Marie Shalloe Great Island.
The day finished off with the switching on of the Village light's by local man Ger Shannon. Campile Hall Committee would like to thank all who donated prizes or who helped out.
