Ann Cadogan retired from Ramsgrange Community School on Friday after 40 years of service.

Hailing from Glynn in West Limerick originally, Ann moved over to teach in Ramsgrange 40 years ago, going on to meet her future husband Kevin in the school.

The couple live locally in Duncannon with their five children.

Ann worked as a Science and Maths teacher for many years and was also a Year Head to many students over this time. She spent the past 12 years as the school's much loved and very highly thought of Home School Community Liaison Teacher. Principal Rachel O'Connor said: 'Indeed the school's rising numbers year on year are in no small part to the work she did with parents and our community. The entire student body and all staff gave her a rousing guard of honour to the staffroom on her last ever break time at school last Friday.'

Ms O'Connor wished Ann farewell on behalf of all students and staff and also welcomed Ms Sharon McDermott to the role of HSCL.
