SF chairman

FOULKSMILLS MAN Oisin O'connell has been elected the new Chairperson of Sinn Féin in County Wexford.

Oisin, a farmer and recent economics graduate, was elected to the role at a Comhairle Ceantar meeting in Enniscorthy last Tuesday night.

Speaking after his election Mr. O'connell said his first duty would be to help lead the County Wexford campaign of opposition to what he terms 'the Permanent Austerity Treaty' and has called for a no vote to the Fiscal Compact Treaty in the upcoming referendum.

'Sinn Féin wants people to educate themselves on this treaty,' said the newly elected chairperson.

Wexford Sinn Féin, along with the People's Movement, is launching an Austerity Treaty Roadshow and in the coming weeks will visit communities across the county campaigning for a no vote to the Treaty.
