Rosbercon’s ‘rail’ flooding danger

Several incidents of flooding in Rosbercon led to a call for the area to be better protected when big rainfall is forecast.

Speaking at the December municipal council meeting, Cllr Anthony Connick said flooding has occurred on the N25 at the old railway tracks crossing in Rosbercon. 'It flooded three times in the past week. I think we need to look at this right across the road. I know we had heavy rains. We have done a lot of work over there.'

District director Eamonn Hore said flood protection works carried out over the past 18 months have worked for the most part, ading that there has been no serious flooding in Ballyhack or Arthurstown following works there.
