Minnie Cummins loved every minute of her 90th birthday party, held in the St Louis Day Care Centre in Ramsgrange, where she attends.

Minnie was joined by her family and friends at the day care centre for her big party.

In late 2016 Minnie's Ballyhack home was gutted in a fire, but she was back inside within six months after builders and tradesmen in the community worked on the house to make it habitable once more in a wonderful show of community spirit.

The fun-loving character, who hails originally from nearby Colman, Arthurstown, was joined by family members for the party, where she enjoyed cake and a dance with James Whitty.

Jim Barnwell performed music for Minnie and the party-goers and everyone had a ball.

The party was organised by several people, including Minnie's carer Esther Meyler, Evelyn Byrne, Ann Cummins, Mary Keating and Michael Walsh. Mary said: 'When she walked in it was a big surprise for her. She'd tell you herself she's been going to St Louis Day Care Centre since she was four as she attended primary school in the building. Now she attends there twice a week.'

Fun-loving Minnie also enjoys playing bingo and was thrilled to have her photograph taken by Mary Browne for her big day.

The organising team wish to thank St Louis Day Care Centre's management for allowing them to hold the party there.
