Marathon runner Sally's track record
Marathon runner Sally Forristal from St Joseph's AC achieved a personal best in the Berlin Marathon, having come home with a silver medal in the national Half Marathon in Dublin, as she strides forward in her running career.
Sally's main training this year has being focused on bettering her time of 2h 59m which she achieved in the 2016 Viking Marathon in Waterford while finishing second in the ladies category.
She completed the Berlin Marathon on Sunday, September 16, finishing in a personal best time of 2h 57m. Sally lost valuable minutes in the race when only less than an hour into the race a person running with a buggy hit her and knocked her to the ground, but in true Sally style she gathered herself and eventually was able to carry on running again.
Sally has been running for St Joseph's AC since she was a juvenile and her family have been involved in the running of the club for many years. She and has excelled in cross-country, road races and half -marathons in the last few years for her club and for County Kilkenny teams.
She has been the among the top ladies in the south east in all the AAI local and national road race events and cross country during the last year.
Sally was the winning lady of the Dungarvan Elvery's Sports series which held over the summer, and the first lady in the Pink Rock 10k, and enjoyed success in many more races around the south east.
