Get your ducks in a row

Brendan Keane

Bree will be the place to be on Easter Monday, April 22, when a duck race and market looks set to create quite a buzz in the village.

The events are being organised for Galbally Sports and Leisure Club as part of the organisation's ongoing fundraising activities for the local community.

The duck race will be held at Wilton Mills, Craan, Bree, and the first one is due to begin at 3 p.m.

The cost of a duck will be €10 and the organisers are encouraging everyone in the community to go along on the day to join in the fun.

There will also be an Easter egg hunt and younger children will have the opportunity to meet the Easter bunny.

All money raised on the day will go towards the cost of renovating Galbally hall.

On the same day there will be an indoor and outdoor market taking place from 1pm to 5pm.

The cost of participating in that will be €15 per stall or pitch and more enquiries about how to get involved can be made to Dawn on 087 8306206.

One of the organisers highlighted it will be a fun day out for all the family: 'Come along and get involved in the fun while contributing towards the renovation of our local hall and the rejuvenation of our local community.'
