Forging a vintage journey to Clonmel

Brendan Keane

The Forge Vintage Club held a very successful road run to Clonmel to raise money for Wexford Hospice Homecare and other local charities.

The convoy of vintage tractors, motorbikes and a bus left Clongeen village early on Saturday morning, June 30, and continued on to Piltown where they stopped for lunch. On the way a few 'laps' of New Ross were also undertaken.

From Piltown they headed to Clonmel where an overnight stay in the Clonmel Park Hotel and a visit to the Coach Man saw the participants relax and unwind for the evening.

The next morning they made their way back to Foulksmills and a barbecue in the Oak Tree. The weather conditions over the two days were ideal for the event. A draw took place in Foulksmills for anyone who sponsored the members on the trip.

The organisers expressed gratitude to everyone who helped with the event and to those who gave their support by sponsoring the run including Crosbie Transport, Mythen Construction, the Horse & Hound, and Whitfield House Hotel.
