Family's relief as Daria safe

Pádraig BYrne

The family of a 19 year-old Wexford woman who had been reported missing over the weekend were delighted to report that she had been found safe and well and thanked everyone for their support and for sharing her image on social media.

A garda alert was issued for Daria Adamek on Saturday morning, stating that she was last seen at Redmond Square at around 8.45 a.m. on Friday morning. Her concerned family made a social media appeal and expressed concerns that she had perhaps travelled to London, carrying a rucksack at the time she was last seen.

A former member of Wexford Able Disabled Club and a student at St Patrick's School in Enniscorthy, there was a huge response on social media as people shared Daria's image in a bid to locate her.

Thankfully, there was a happy ending. Daria's sister Sandra confirmed that she had been located late on Sunday night. 'Thank you all,' she said. 'Daria was found, she's okay! I can't give any more information, but once more thank you all for your help and support.' A garda spokesman said, while they're confident of Daria's location, they were continuing to liaise with police from outside the jurisdiction.
