Wexford hurling Manager Davy Fitzgerald was all smiles and laughter at a fun and hugely successful enterprise day held at St Mary's Youth Centre in New Ross recently.

The Bank of Ireland event featured a Business, Community and Sports Expo, as well as plenty of family friendly activities. The Enterprise Town event was organised by the bank in partnership with the local community and featured stalls by a wide range of businesses across the health, finance, food and lifestyle sectors, among others.

New Ross branch manager Patrice Byrne said the local community embraced the initiative wholeheartedly.

'Working together we organised a very exciting programme of activities,' she said.

The current Wexford GAA Senior hurling manager Davy Fitzgerald formed part of a panel discussion on the topic of health and wellbeing with fitness coach Lourde Connick and Jonathan Keenan of Creacon Lodge Wellness Centre. Other highlights of the day included a musical display, Irish dancing, an archery display and a Bizworld presentation.

The event was free to attend and gave the community in the hall the opportunity to see the level of enterprise in New Ross.

Brendan Byrne, Head of Business Banking Leinster, said: 'I would like to thank the Enterprise Town committee and all those involved in helping to organise and exhibit at this event.'

Mr Byrne said the initiative - which has become an annual event in the town - aims to promote enterprise and drive business momentum for local businesses and the wider sports and social community in New Ross by connecting with the communities in these areas to showcase what the area has to offer.
