An information talk was given on climate change awareness, recycling waste, energy efficiency and sustainable fashion, at the Brandon House Hotel by An Taisce Climate Ambassador Nadya Doyle from Newbawn, along with climate change warriors from Gorey and Carlow.

Kim Achari is a secondary school teacher and Green Schools Co-ordinator from Gorey. She spoke about the actions and activities that she has been involved with her students in her school in reducing single use plastic and also the ongoing school-strikes 4climate. Brian Byrne from Carlow spoke about the different things people can do to help reduce waste and improve on energy efficiency.

Nadya gave some background on statistics in relation to climate change and where Ireland currently stands amongst other countries. She said: 'Ireland's greenhouse gas emissions per person are amongst the highest of any country in the world. The argument Ireland is too small a country to make a difference holds no ground climate change is a global problem that requires a global solution involving all countries.'
