60-bed hotel planned for Fethard
Planning has been sought for a 60-bed hotel just outside of Fethard-on-Sea.
Ramsgrange company Nadur na Beatha Teoranta lodged planning permission in late June for the development at Ralph, Fethard-on-Sea.
The development will consist of building a one to three storey hotel and 20 self-catered houses. The application states that the hotel would include balconies and storage and cleaning rooms. A bar/lounge and separate restaurant with balcony and decking areas is also planned, along with a function room with enclosed courtyard with a bar and toilets and a guest lodge, administration office, staff facilities and 102 car parking spaces.
46 parking spaces for occupants of the 20 three-bed, two storey self-catered houses would be located opposite them. Meanwhile two wastewater pumping stations and connection to the public sewage system in Fethard-on-Sea village is also sought, along with permission to build a pedestrian footpath along the road to connect with the existing footpath into the village.
The site is located adjacent to Bannow Bay Special Area of Conservation and Nadur na Beatha Teoranta say they will furnish a natura impact statement for the proposed development.
