Runners raise funds for diabetes
More than 120 people took to the roads to help raise much-needed funds for the Children's Diabetic Clinic in Wexford General Hospital.
Clodagh Barry from the Parents' Support Group presented a cheque of €5,044 to diabetic nurse Deirdre Bowers after hundreds of people completed either a 5km or 10km walk or run in the area of Ballycullane.
Now in its fifth year, the money was raised through sponsorship cards and generous donations from anyone who could not make it on the day.
There was a medal presentation for all participants in Tentrin Court Complex followed by refreshments.
Clodagh said: 'It is a great way to give back as the clinic do so much for our children who suffer with diabetes. The money will go towards a dietitian, psychologist for teenagers and demonstrations on how to care for their feet, inject properly and the insulin pump.'
