Memorial tractor run - Everyone is invited to participate in a memorial tractor and car run being held in memory of the late Brian Fortune in Glenmore on Sunday, June 23.
This is the second memorial tractor and car run in memory of Brian who died by suicide in 2014.
It is being held in aid of New Ross River Rescue and Pieta House. Registration costs €20 and will take place in Glenmore GAA Pitch at 10 a.m.
There will be a prize for the best presented car. A live band will perform at the Glen bar afterwards, with spot prizes. The road run will leave the GAA grounds at 12.15 p.m.
Forge Vintage run
It's not long to go before the Forge Vintage Run overnight trip to Dungarvan that will see 20 tractors leaving Clongeen heading to Dungarvan on Saturday, June 29, and returning to Foulksmills on the following day.
All members have been given sponsorship cards for the run and will be asking for sponsorship. Anyone who makes a donation will be entered into a draw which will happen following the drivers' return from Dungarvan. Prizes include: 1st Prize €200, sponsored by Crosbie Transcar; a power washing, sponsored by Mythen Construction; dinner for two in the Horse and Hound, sponsored by the Horse and Hound; Sunday lunch for two in Whitford House Hotel, sponsored by Whitford House Hotel.
The club would like to thank its sponsors for the prizes and to everyone who has sponsored our members.
All monies raised from this event will be donated to Wexford Hospice Homecare and other local charities at the club Christmas party night later in the year.
FCA Band says thanks
The New Ross FCA Pipe Band would like to thank the people of New Ross and Rosbercon and surrounding areas for their generosity at its recent church gate collections on Saturday, June 1 and Sunday, June 2.

Ross Town soccer camp
New Ross Town F.C will be running a soccer camp in the Good Counsel College Sports Campus from Monday, July 15, to Friday, July 19, for boys and girls aged from 5 to 15.

AA meeting for women
A new AA meeting for women has begun in the South West Wexford Family Resource Centre in Ramsgrange.
It is held every Friday at 7 p.m.
The meeting was set up by a woman in AA who has become aware that many women in the area seem reluctant to come forward for help.
The meeting will concentrate on the AA recovery programme, with a special emphasis on the problems faced by women.
If you or any of your family are affected by your drinking, this seems like a good place to start getting help, the lady running the meeting said.
Ferryman Deep swim
There is less than a month or so to go to the annual Beat the Ferryman Deep Water Swim from Ballyhack to Passage East.
This year's swim takes place on Saturday, June 29, at 3.30 p.m. organised by Passage East Hurling Club as a fundraiser. The event is open to all competent swimmers over 15 years and entries are being taken on totaltiming.ie.
This promises to be a great family fun day out in Passage East. Swim headquarters is in Passage East Community Centre.
Host families are needed
Host families are required for Spanish and Italian students who will be based in the New Ross area this summer.
The dates are from June 21 until July 20.
Garda vetting will be requested.

Tesco New Ross community champion Mary McGrath said there are lots of prizes to be won in the Tesco draw, held in aid of Temple Street Children's Hospital at Tesco, New Ross. Prizes include 1.000 litres of Campus Oil, two nights' B&B in the Brandon House Hotel, New Ross and two nights' B&B in Creacon Wellness Retreat.
New this week are a large hamper of bedding and kitchen items and two hampers, one for boys and one for girls.

Rose garden library talk
A gardening talk about rose gardens with Assumpta Broomfield called 'Searching and Scenting' takes place at New Ross Library on Tuesday, June 18, at 7 p.m. Described as an extraordinary talk on the importance of the rose in art, politics and religion, attendees will be captivated by tales of eccentric women and anecdotes about great explorers and collectors.
Join children's author Caroline Busher for a very special interactive storytime for families and young children at New Ross Library on Friday, June 21, at 11.30 a.m.
Caroline will read to children and show parents how to bring storytime to life for their little ones.

Design a fun t-shirt
Children have the chance to design their own Norman t-shirt at New Ross Library. Sarah Dobbs will teach children about Norman Ireland and help them choose their favourite available Norman design to print on their own t-shirt at the craft workshop. Talk on JFK's grandmother
People niteested in the (American) Kennedy family can go along to New Ross Library for a talk called 'The Search for Bridget Murphy Kennedy, great grandmother of JFK' with Celestine Murphy on Tuesday, June 25, at 7 p.m. In September 2018, Wexford librarian Celestine Murphy gave a brief presentation on Bridget Murphy to the Kennedy Summer School.
That presentation was based on new research Celestine had undertaken which threw light on Bridget's life and background in Ireland. In this illustrated talk, Celestine will expand on that original presentation to provide additional detail of Bridget's family origins and circumstances in mid-nineteenth-century County Wexford.
