Musical delight at classical concert

All are invited to Christ Church, Gorey on Thursday, August 8 from 8 p.m. to enjoy a classical concert from the German orchestra Chamber Philharmonia Cologne as part of its UK and Irish tour entitled Concerti Vivaldi.

'The objective is simple, we want to inspire as many people as possible across all generations to enjoy classical music,' said a spokesperson for the group.

The motto of the Chamber Philharmonia Cologne is 'Classical music the world over' and this filters in to everything that they do.

'It is irrelevant for our musicians whether they are playing in a little village church, in the open air, in Cologne Cathedral or in the Sydney Opera House. Their enthusiasm to play music is the same every time,' the spokesperson said.

The Chamber Philharmonia Cologne regularly tour New Zealand, Australia, Spain, Germany, the UK and Ireland and listeners can enjoy renditions of Mozart, Vivaldi, Saint-Saëns, Bach and Borne among others.

The instruments include flute, violin, strings and bass, all sure to impress an audience.

For more information on tickets, visit Gorey Visitor Centre at the Market House on Gorey's Main Street or call 053 9421248.
