Dempsey grabs four beauties
IF NORTH End United lift the Premier Division title at the end of the season, Kyle Dempsey will certainly have earned his winner's medal.
The young hot-shot bagged all four of his side's goals as they romped to a 4-0 win over Bunclody in Church Road.
That win wasn't enough to see the Hollygrove men return to the summit of the table however as Shamrock Rovers also had a successful weekend.
Forth Celtic travelled to Fr. Murphy Park to try to claim the scalp of the league leaders, but singles from Ricky Fox and Eamon O'brien saw Rovers run out 2-0 winners and so they remain two points clear of United at the top of the pile.
Kyle Dempsey wasn't the only man revelling in his goalscoring duties last weekend though. Ferns United's Dickie Redmond also went goal-crazy in Clone to secure his side a point.
Redmond struck a hat-trick to earn his side a 3-3 draw against fourth-placed Courtown Hibs who drop six points off the lead as a consequence of this result.
Ian Travers, Eugene O'brien and Darren Kennedy landed Hibs' goals on Sunday.
There was also a goal-glut in the Showgrounds as Gorey Rangers fired five past Campile United.
Adam Territt-king helped himself to a brace against the Tom O'neill Park men while Emmet Gregan, Aidan Mccann and Sam Doran weighed in with singles.
And last but not least, it was also a fruitful few days for Adamstown who climbed closer to potential safety courtesy of a hard-fought 0-0 draw at home to New Ross Celtic.
That point sees them move to within three points of Bunclody, the side they must overhaul to climb out of the drop zone.
