Management members from Dealz Ireland cycled 50 miles from Tallaght to Gorey in aid of Make-A-Wish Foundation last week.

James Murphy, duty manager of Dealz in Nutgrove, and Darren Jones, country regional manager, took part in the first leg of the fundraiser. It took them over five hours to reach Dealz in Gorey.

The fundraiser for Make-A-Wish Foundation is taking place for the month of September, with staff and management taking part in a 50 mile stretch of the cycle each around Ireland. The next leg will be from Gorey to Wexford, followed by Wexford to Waterford, Waterford to Dungarvan and so on.

While James and Darren cycled down from Dublin, staff in Gorey took part in a stationary cycle to raise additional funds. They also had a bucket collection in the store.

Andrew O'Donovan, store manager of Dealz Wexford, said the cycle will be completed on October 2 in Dublin. Afterwards, the staff from Dealz in Ireland will then travel to Liverpool for a company conference. Dealz, which is known as Poundland in the UK, will also take part in the fundraising cycle around the UK in September.
