Duncannon - St. James' GAA: Lotto - There was no winner of the €12,200 jackpot in last Tuesdays draw. The winning numbers were 6, 9, 12, and 20. St James' Club had two match-three winners; Billy Kilroy, Ramsgrange and Kathleen Murphy, Kilhile. The jackpot for the next lotto draw, on May 14, will be €12,500. Tickets are available from committee members and local shops and pubs. €50 yearly lotto tickets are also available from 086 8820773.

Barn dance - We are happy to announce that the St James' barn dance will be on Saturday, June 22, this year. So save a date in your diaries for one of the biggest sessions of the year. We will have more details closer to the date.

Active Retirement

Our next monthly meeting will be held on June 3, in St Louis Day Care Centre, starting at 2.15 p.m. Come along for a chat with new and old friends over a cup of tea and a bun. 087 6372084.

Trip to Castlecomer - We will be going on a day outing to Castlecomer, Kilkenny, on Wednesday, May 22. This trip will include a visit to the Discovery Park, a Cookery Talk at Edward Hayden's Cookery School incl. Scones, tea and coffee. We will also visit Duiske Glass gift shop. Then on the way home we will visit Dunne's in Kilkenny. We will also stop somewhere for lunch. I will let you know when we have more detail.

Plant sale/coffee morning

Ballycullane Veggie Group is holding a Plant Sale and coffee morning on Saturday, May 18, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Ballycullane Village Hall. Flowers, Vegetables and Fruit on sale. All organic and great value. The group meets every Monday evening at 7 p.m. and on Saturday mornings at 11 a.m. New members are always welcome. Learn how to grow veg in a community plot.

Horeswood

GAA club news

A last minute goal gave St James a 1-13 to 0-15 win over Horeswood in the Foxe Cup in Horeswood last Tuesday. They play away to St Martin's in Round three of the league on Saturday 11th at 7 p.m.

Club and County Draw - Winners in last Wednesdays draw. GAA season ticket - Teresa Walsh, Dunganstown, €150 Pettit's Voucher - Ann Howlett, Ballykelly and Willie King, Abbeyview. Horeswood Club would like to thank all ticket sellers and everyone who supported the draw.

Club lotto - No jackpot winner. Numbers drawn were 10, 17, 19 and 30, four match 3's Catherine Whelan, Lar O'Leary Horeswood, Thomas Donovan Clongeen, Liam O'Shea Rath/Cush. Next draw May 13 in Horse and Hound. Jackpot 7600.

The golf classic will be held in New Ross Golf Club on Friday, June 14, while the Kennedy Run goes ahead on Saturday, June 22.

Coiste na nÓg

The under-15 hurlers were beaten 4-15 to 2-6 at home to Cloughbawn last Thursday. Fixtures: Tuesday the seventh under-13 Football away to Oylegate. Thursday the ninth under-15 Football at home to Our Lady's Is. at 7.15.

Rackard League

The Scoil Mhuire Rackard League hurling team will meet Oulart in the A semi-final in Bellfield on Thursday the ninth at 3.45, while the Rising Stars team will be away to Rathangan in the semi-final.

Plant Sale

Ballykelly hall

Green Road will play in Ballykelly hall on Saturday, May 11, at 8 p.m. Tickets €12 and €7 for under-14s, available from committee members or 087 6549879. This is a fundraiser for ongoing renovation works in the hall, all support appreciated. Raffle on the night and door prize.

Ramsgrange

Living Well with a Long Term Health Condition

This is a six-week program and is aimed at adults over 18 who are living with one or more long term health conditions or caring for someone with a long-term health condition.

The Wexford group starts on Monday, May 13, at 7 p.m. (finishing at 9.30 p.m.) in South West Wexford Family Resource Centre, the Ramsgrange Centre, Ramsgrange, New Ross County Wexford. Participants can self-refer and book a place by ringing Lana or Denis at 086 8163772 or online via Eventbrite se-livingwell-waterford.eventbrite.ie. The programme costs just €20 which covers the six sessions and a course handbook.

Forever Fit

A new fitness class is coming to South West Wexford Family Resource Centre - Forever Fit Wexford 'Active 50+'. Dancing and singing to lovely music + Stretching. Appropriate exercise suitable for ages 60+ 70+ 80+. Maintaining bone density, flexibility, strength, vitality and sociability. Ongoing classes: Mondays from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Classes are €10. Mind and Body Class

Come and join Veronique Rooney at South West Wexford, Family Resource Centre on the second Friday of each month. The next class is May 10, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Drop in €10. For adults of all fitness levels.

Blokes with Cameras Blokes with Cameras meet at South West Wexford Family Resource Centre, Ramsgrange on Wednesday 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Beginners and advanced photographers welcome, and you don't need a fancy camera to enjoy photography. We will be running a basic photo shop course so you can have more fun with your photos. Make a note, come along and enjoy photography in a relaxed atmosphere. Fusion Youth Café at South West Wexford Family Resource Centre is a drop in service for young people aged 11-18 living in southwest Wexford. Fusion is open every Wednesday and Friday 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. A range of activities including pool, table-tennis and video games are now on offer.

Artisan Market

The outdoor Dunbrody Food and Craft Artisan Market takes place every Sunday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on the grounds of Dunbrody Country House Hotel.

Shielbaggan field day

Shielbaggan's annual field day will be held on Sunday, May 12, at midday with all the usual stalls, games and home baking. Stalls include a bric-à-brac, greasy pole, water dunking, barbecue, children's corner, sports and tug-o-war. Guaranteed to be a great Family Day Out.

St Leonards

Cards

Winners of the cards in St Leonards hall last week were; Carmel Kehoe, Aidan Colfer and Johnny Colfer. Three teams finished joint second and third. They were; Maureen Eustace, Joan Fardy, Michael Murphy and Peter Stafford, Margaret Cullen, Kitty Roche and Pat Whelan, Michael Kehoe and Seán O'Grady. Winners of the last game draw were; Kathleen Cadogan, Mick Reville and Conor Cadogan.

The lucky raffle winners on the night were; Michael Kehoe (2), John Joe Murphy and John Sinnott. The cards continue every Saturday night at 8.30 p.m.

GAA Nursery

Gusserane GAAs nursery group will commence football training on Saturday, May 11, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the GAA pitch in Ballycullane. Boys, who are currently in junior infants or are about to begin in junior infants next September are welcome to attend. Gusserane O'Rahillys strongly encourage you to bring your young son along on the 11th.
