Duncannon - Supervised study group: Places are still available in our Parents Supervised Study Group for third, fifth or sixth year students in Campile Hall every Monday, Wednesday and Friday evening from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., at a cost of €20 per month. St James' GAA lotto

There was no winner of the €9,800 jackpot in last Tuesdays draw. The winning numbers were 1, 5, 14 and 26. St James' Club had one match-three winner; Michelle Dwyer, Duncannon. The jackpot for the next draw, on January 22, will be €10,100. Tickets are available from committee members and local shops and pubs. €50 yearly lotto tickets are also available from 086 8820773.

Active Retirement

The monthly meeting will be held on Monday, February 4, in St Louis Day Care Centre, Ramsgrange, starting at 2.15 p.m. Come along for a chat with new and old friends over a cup of tea and a bun.

Just a reminder that yearly membership fees, of €20 per member, are due by the end of February. This yearly fee includes insurance cover and we also subsidise many outings when we can. We are always looking for new members, so if you are 50 or over, why not come along and join us.

Variety concert

Ramsgrange Community School is having a Variety Concert on Thursday, January 24. The concert will comprise a range of acts to include; singers, comedians, trad. players and much, much more. Tickets are €8 each or a ticket for a family of three for €20 - an ideal Christmas present. Tickets can be purchased in the school.

Positivity Week at SWWFRC

Despite Blue Monday hitting us on January 21, we at SWWFRC are going the extra mile. Our Centre will have a relaxed, positive and peaceful vibe this week.

Some planned activities include: Linda Shalloe Complimentary Therapist kicking us off with a talk on 'New Year - New Beginnings' on Monday the 21st at 10 a.m., this is a Free Event but places are limited so booking is essential through reception.

Tuesday the 22nd - stroll on Duncannon Beach at 10.30 a.m., weather permitting.

Thursday the 24th at 10 a.m. Veronique Rooney is holding a Positivity Talk in our Therapy Room.

We are also holding a raffle for a Positivity Hamper all week - Tickets €1 at reception, have a Promotional Healthy Options Menu in our Community Café, as well as yoga in our activity room on Monday and Thursday evenings. For more info on any of the activities here contact reception at 051 389418.

Volunteers needed

At SWWFRC we run projects with a group of core staff, a team of CE workers (of which there is always space to join) and a dedicated group of volunteers. We are asking for people to join us - simply by offering their time. A few hours a week can make a huge difference to the services we can offer. Full training (if necessary) will be given. If you can help, contact reception for more details. We look forward to having you on board.

Education at SWWFRC

Evening courses starting in January - Health Care Support Level 5: Safety and health at work. Business Administration: Word Processing Level 5. Business Administration: Payroll Manual and Computerised Level 5. Business Administration: Bookkeeping Manual and Computerised Level 5. Early Childhood: Early Childhood Education and Play Level 5. Work Experience Level 5.

Courses will run subject to minimum numbers confirmed. Recipients of social welfare may be entitled to funding towards courses. Easy payment plans can be availed of for all courses. Phone Jan/Diane at 051 389418 for further details or to book a place on any of the above courses.

Blokes with Cameras

Blokes with Cameras are back meeting in South West Wexford Family Resource Centre in Ramsgrange on Wednesday. Beginners and advanced photographers welcome, and you don't need a fancy camera to enjoy photography. We will be running a basic photo shop course so you can have more fun with your photos. St Louis Stitchers

The St Louis Stitchers Group meet from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at South West Wexford Family Resource Centre (SWWFRC) Ramsgrange every Wednesday morning. New members very welcome. For more information contact SWWFRC Reception at 051 389418.

Yoga

Irish dancing classes every Monday 3.30 p.m. to 4.30 p.m. at South West Wexford Family Resource Centre will recommence after Christmas.

45 Card Game will be played every Thursday night at 9 p.m. at the Kings Bay Inn.

Community Market

Ramsgrange Community Market is on every Friday morning from 9.30 a.m. in Ramsgrange Community Hall (opposite Centra). Pop in and have a cuppa and a chat and take the opportunity to meet and buy from local food producers and crafters. A New Enterprise Stall is being set up to support local crafters establish and promote their product and/or new craft/food business. If you have a product or products that you would like to showcase on this stall contact us for further information.

Campile Bingo

There is a weekly game of bingo being held in Campile Hall every Monday night at 8.30 p.m. in aid of the ongoing development of the hall, with prize money of €1,250 approximately being paid out each night with a rolling in house lotto and Snowball also being played each night. We welcome each and every one senior citizens, young and children alike to try it and enjoy a great night out and win some money into the bargain.
