Clonroche Poulpeasty: Sympathy - We extend our sympathy to the Mahon family Clonroche on the passing of Francis (The Boxer) Mahon, The Villas, Clonroche. Beloved son of the late Frank and Mary Mahon, brother of Phil, Andy, Bridget, Ann, Mairead, Mary and the late Eileen and John. Sadly missed by his family, relatives, and friends.

We would also like to extend our sympathies to the Joyce families, Castleboro and Quirke Families Glenbrien on the tragic passing of Sé Pádraig Joyce (14 months), Castleboro, Clonroche, Beloved son of Pádraig Joyce and Brenda Quirke, brother of Abbie, Ben and Isobel and sadly missed by Larry, Connie, Pat and Mary. RIP.

Cloughbawn GAA lotto

There was four winners of match three in the most recent lotto draw. Danielle Kehoe Canon Murphy Park, Ann Walsh Tomfarney, Mag Murray Doyle Templenacroha, and Seán Flood Coolaught. Numbers drawn were 9, 10, 11 and 12. Next drawn in the Boro Inn on April 13 with the jackpot standing at 10,000. on duty are the Red Group A & J Kehoe, L Kavanagh, K Doyle A Murphy and J Scott.

Split-the-pot

The winner of this week's split-the-pot, Drawn in the Cloch Ban, was Bernard Doherty Raheen, The pot was €260 All proceeds help with the maintenance and development of the village. We appreciate very much the people who support us.

Camogie/Ladies' Football

Terrerath Hall

Bingo every Wednesday night at 8 p.m., we would appreciate all support and all are welcome. Every Monday night, our new yoga classes have commenced in the community centre from 7.30-8.30. Open to both male and female. Friday nights - Irish dancing, and Thursdays - Slimming World. The local soccer club also has training sessions from five years upwards.

The Hall Committee appreciate everyone using the facilities and help the upkeep of the hall.

Split-the-pot

Please remember split-the-pot is drawn each Sunday following 11 a.m. Mass in St Mary's Church, Cushinstown. Tickets for the split-the-pot are available locally at €2 each.

Community Games

Well done to our boys under-10 Soccer Team, who received Silver Medals in the final and who lost out to Glyn-Barntown in the final.

Our under-13 girls won their final and received Gold and are playing April 6 in Carlow against St Lazerian's.

The under-13 boys were out against Crannford in a semi-final on Saturday the 23rd. Art: Well done to Ciaran McCarty first in the under-16 Art. Swimming takes place over Easter.

The Irish Blood Transfusion Service will be in the Brandon House Hotel, New Ross, on Tuesday, April 9 and Wednesday, April 10, from 4.30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

St James' GAA Lotto

There was no winner of the €11,600 jackpot in last Tuesday's draw. The winning numbers were 3, 9, 20 and 28. St James' Club had no match-three winners. Easter Market

St Louis Day Care Centre is hosting an Easter Market Festival starting with A cookery demonstration, with Kevin Dundon - The Perfect Easter Feast - on Thursday, April 18. Doors open at 8 p.m. in the Brewery at Dunbrody Country House. Raffle prizes on the night.

The draw for the top prize of two nights B&B in Marlfield House, Gorey, will take place on Sunday. Tickets are €15 and can be purchased in the St Louis Day Care Centre or the local, Dunbrody Country House. We are fundraising to purchase a vehicle for the delivery of Meals on Wheels to the people in our community. All proceeds in aid of St Louis Day Care Centre.

An Easter Market will be held at the local, Dunbrody Country House on Sunday, April 21, from midday to 4 p.m., where we hope you will join us and re-visit the Arthurstown Easter Market.

Pilgrimage to Lourdes

Sympathy

Sincere sympathy is extended to John Kearns of Rathimney on the passing recently of his brother Richard. The funeral took place in his native Galbally last Sunday week.

Daffodil Day

The organisers would sincerely like to thank everybody in the parish who got behind the recent fundraiser for Daffodil Day. The coffee morning was a lovely sociable occasion, it was great to catch up and chat. A massive €1,966.77 was raised by it alone with a total of €5,260.67 lodged to the Irish Cancer Society as a result of your support.

Lotto Syndicate

The April monthly draw took place for all members of the syndicate. The winners of €100 each this month were Nigel Doyle and John Stafford. All members are reminded that they are also entered in the Model County Draw which begins shortly.

Cards

Winners in the hall last week were David Murphy, James McDonald and Pat Whelan. Second went to Kathleen Cadogan, John Sinnott and Martin Stafford while third went to Pat Ryan, Tom Corcoran and Watty Byrne. The last game draw went to Michael Whelan, Jimmy Leacy and Johnny Colfer.

Raffle winners were Johnny Colfer, Johnny Cogley and Mick Reville.

Computer training

Due to the success of the previous free computer courses in Gusserane Hall, a new Citizens Online course is being organised to run in early May in Gusserane Hall. This is a free beginners' computer course which will run as a two-hour lesson per week for five weeks. All laptops and booklets will be supplied for the course. Ladies' Football

The Gusserane Ladies had a great win last Sunday week in Ballyhogue. They are out again Friday, April 12, at 7 p.m. in Gusserane and your support would be greatly appreciated. The club also wishes Fiona Ryan, Niamh Browne and Linda Bradley the best of luck in their bid for all-Ireland Soccer success on Sunday, April 14, at 3 p.m. in Arklow.

Darkness into Light

Inistioge will host its first darkness into light walk this year. Darkness into light raises both, awareness for mental health issues and much needed funds for Pieta House. It takes place on May 11, both all over Ireland and all around the world. The walk symbolically represents the therapeutic counselling journey.
