ARDEE & District AC’s small team of four athletes certainly didn’t come home empty-handed from last weekend’s Leinster Juvenile Championships.
Leading the way was Kya Mothiram who earned double gold with a throw of 11.09m in the shot put a best of 29.43m in the discus competition.
Charlie Sands couldn’t have hoped for more either as he obtained two new PBs when taking home bronze in the U16 400m and placing fourth in the 200m, qualifying for the Nationals in both events.
Ardee & District’s other Leinster hopefuls, Ruri Mothiram and TomJoe McCormack, are relatively new to competing at these championships but both gave gallant performances.
Ruri was fifth in the U13 javelin and TomJoe came ninth in the U12 long jump and qualified second from his heat before placing fourth in the 60m hurdles final.
