Drogheda Credit Union and its members have hit the €20,000 fundraising mark in their recent donation campaign for UNICEF Ireland’s Türkiye & Syria Earthquake appeal.

The Donation Day, which took place last month, had members throughout the communities in Drogheda, Trim, East Meath and Dunleer generously contribute to the important appeal raising €10,000, which Drogheda Credit Union has matched.

“Our members are some of the most charitable and caring patrons, we are humbled by their generosity, once again, towards our donation campaign for UNICEF Ireland.” said Tom Kiely, CEO, Drogheda Credit Union.

All money raised will be donated to UNICEF Ireland’s Türkiye & Syria Earthquake appeal. The UNICEF Ireland team are working to provide children and their families with emergency supplies on the ground in Türkiye & Syria, under challenging conditions, with harsh weather and damaged infrastructure exacerbating the situation.

“The children of Syria and Türkiye urgently need support. Through this generous donation by Drogheda Credit Union and its members, UNICEF will be able to protect more children and deliver critical life-saving support to those affected by the earthquake in Syria and Türkiye.” said Owen Buckley, Head of Corporate Partnerships, UNICEF Ireland.

Drogheda Credit Union would like to thank every single one of its members that contributed to the fundraising efforts for Turkey & Syria earthquake victims.
