There was great excitement on Friday night as Doireann McNally made her third appearance on the Late, Late Show as details of Toy Show The Musical were revealed.
The talented young performer from the Point Road, Dundalk was one of the children invited to join Grammy nominated composer and singer RuthAnne Cunningham on stage to debut the lead song from the new show entitled ‘All the Same’.
Doireann previously appeared on the Late Late Toy Show and was also invited to sing with Women In Harmony when they launched their 2020 Christmas single ‘Dreams’ on The Late, Late Show.
This time she was one of the children that had appeared on previous Toy Shows who were invited to the RTE studios for the launch of the new musical.
"They went up and practiced their vocals with Sarah Travis, who played the piano in the performance,” explains Doireann’s mum Taragh.
She says that the children had a great time as they got the chance to play and chat in the green room and got lots of treats from the production team.
“Doireann didn’t know anything about the Toy Show Musical until she watched the show back as the announcement had been made in another studio so she’s so excited to see it,” says Taragh.
Following the show, the parents of Saoírse Ruane announced that the 10 year-old who stole the hearts of Toy Show viewers in 2020 has to undergo further treatment for a rare cancer.
“We are all praying for Saoirse and her family. It’s really heart-breaking,” says Taragh.
Toy Show The Musical will run from December 10th, 2022, in The Auditorium, The Convention Centre, Dublin. Tickets priced from €25 go on sale from Thursday 19th May 2022 at 10am. Go to www.rte.ie/toyshowthemusical for ticketing information and to purchase.
