"The coffee shop is the new pub. That’s the trend we’ve seen emerging since the pandemic. It’s where people go to meet up for a chat,” says Conor Brady who has opened Coffee & Créme Cafe in the old bus depot at the Long Walk.

I saw an opening in Dundalk for a coffee shop and ice-cream parlour and this was the ideal location,” says the Greenore native who worked for Martin Foods for many years, selling ice-cream machines.

The premises had been run as a very successful coffee shop by the late Cyril Finnegan and was badly missed by regulars when it closed.

Conor is delighted that Cyril’s daughter Tara is working in Coffee & Créme Cafe as she is a familiar face for their regular customers.
