Young people considering a career in the arts or creative industries are being invited to consider applying for courses offered by Dundalk Institute of Technology’s Department of Creative Arts, Media and Music.
The Department offers an exciting and innovative range of programmes at both undergraduate and postgraduate level including creative media, film and TV production, music, and theatre.
Students have access to state-of-the-art facilities including TV and recording studios, performance spaces and discipline-specific lab spaces and have the opportunity to showcase their work at public events including concerts, exhibitions, theatre productions, and conferences that enrich the cultural life of the Institute and region
The courses provide students with the opportunity to collaborate with fellow students in other creative disciplines and with their partner universities across the world.
DkIT graduates have successfully gone on to work on prestigious ventures in the world of film, tv, theatre, music and other creative industries.
Film and Television Production graduates have worked on HBO’s Game of Thrones, have become researchers for BBC, TV3 and RTE, are employed in production companies and post-production companies as well as various theatre companies.
Their music students and graduates, such as Gavin Gribben, Daoirí Farrell, Fiachra Meek,and Ryan McAuley have embarked on successful careers as touring and recording artists with bands like Wornoc, Cúig, and Alfi. Music graduates have also been recipients of national and international award.
. Meanwhile, graduates of the Creative Media courses have found work in the fields of design, communications, photography, PR and Marketing, many setting up their own businesses.
Courses are available for school leavers through the CAO, while their are also options for mature students through their Postgraduate, Springboard or flexible Professional courses.
