Three women now released in Drogheda organised crime search

GardaĆ­ in Drogheda investigating organised criminal activity in Drogheda, Co. Louth have released the two women who were arrested on Thursday May 18, last.

Both women, aged in their 20s, were arrested and detained under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act, 2007 and have been released without charge.

A third woman, aged in her 40s was arrested and detained on Friday May 19, 2023 and has since been released without charge.

A file will now be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions, in respect of all arrests.

Last Thursday, as part of Operation Stratus, an ongoing investigation into organised criminal activity and the sale and supply of drugs in the Drogheda area, GardaĆ­ attached to the Divisional Drug Unit conducted a search operation.

During the search operation, four addresses were searched in Co. Louth and North Dublin. Two vehicles were seized and suspected cocaine with an estimated street value of €9,000 was also seized. The drugs are now subject to analysis by Forensic Science Ireland (FSI).

Investigations are ongoing.
