Flooding Works

Following the recent and well highlighted flooding in parts of Termonfeckin, a major works operation to clear any blockages in drains got underway. There are parts of the Ballywater River where water is unable to get through due to blockages and debris and this will have to be tackled. However drainage work was carried out along some of the shores and channels to allow water to escape. This was noticed at Seapoint around the Golf Club entrance and close to Termonfeckin bridge on the Baltray road which necessitated the traffic lights being switched off and a stop/go system put in place to allow the works to be undertaken. Similar activity was noticed in Sandpit at the end of Milltown road.
