Bettystown Tidy Towns
If you’d like to get involved message us on Facebook and Instagram @bettystown_tidytowns or come along and meet us in the village on Saturday mornings between 9 and 11am. Come and join us!
The village square in Bettystown has new water efficient planters. Our thanks to the Local Authority Waters Programme for the grant, under the Community Water Development Fund 2023, which enabled Bettystown Tidy Towns to purchase them for the village.
Our volunteers have already been busy planting up the planters using a mixture of farmyard manure and soil.
The grant is offered by the Local Authority Waters Programme Office on behalf of the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage.
The new planters have water reservoirs. Special cords transfer the water from the reservoir to the plant by osmosis. To make the planters even more water efficient we fill them using harvested rain water.
Bettystown Tidy Towns were delighted to be awarded €600 from Meath Co. Co. towards the cost of street planters, wall planters and pole planters with plants.

Boat Security
Every year, particularly in the spring and summer, boats, boat trailers, outboard motors, electronic and safety equipment are stolen. There are several measures that can be taken to provide adequate security precautions to protect your valuable property and reduce the risk of theft. Although boat insurance is essential, it is not a substitute for improved security.
By improving your security measures, you will greatly reduce your risk of falling victim to a crime.
