Volunteers have weeded the beds near the bus stop opposite Preston Park and have now started weeding the box hedging at the entrance to the Community Garden. Many thanks to Meath Co. Co. for dropping off some chippings for our Car Park and paths.

We have one of our 12 large flower beds weeded and if you have any spare time on a Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday, perhaps you might like to come along and give a hand.

We have entered the Supervalu Tidy Towns Competition for this year, as well as An Taisce Green Flag Award for the Community Garden and will shortly be filling out the application form for Meath Co. Co. Pride of Place Awards. We would really appreciate it if everyone could clean up outside their premises and if you know of a neighbour who might be ill perhaps you could give them a helping hand.

Julianstown Tidy Town were delighted to be awarded a grant of €600 from Meath County Council Community Fund and most of this will go towards the cost of replenishing 15 of our large planters. These planters will be dotted around the village in June to add some colour to our lovely village.

Many thanks to Meath Co. Co. for awarding a grant of €600 towards the upkeep of Moorechurch Cemetery and €350 towards equipment in the community garden under a scheme called ‘Connecting Cultures’.
