Congratulations to Patricia Pentony who recently had a birthday and has also finished up with Lynch’s Centra in the Village. Patricia has retired after 17 years of fantastic service. Niall, Mairead and staff have said that Patricia is one of the hardest working, polite, honest people they have ever had the pleasure to work with. She has been with them since they moved to their new premises back in 2005. She will be sadly missed by staff and customers alike. But everyone agrees that they wish Patricia many happy and healthy years to enjoy her retirement.

Tullyallen Sports Day
A letter was sent home with the children about the Annual Tullyallen NS Sport’s Day.
This will be the first Sport’s Day since Covid and the Parents Association would like it to be a big success.
This is not just a Sport’s Day but a huge fundraising event for the school. The school needs funding and this year’s proceeds will go towards painting the outside/Inside of the school, equipment for Aistear, IT equipment for the school and to repair the roof between the old and new part of the school.
There are only seven members in the Parents Association and unfortunately this is not enough people to help organise a Sport’s Day, so they are desperately seeking Volunteers to help pull this event off. If you think you can help in any way, please put your name forward, as the Sport’s Day won’t be able to go ahead without your help. The Parents Association held a meeting on Tuesday night to discuss but if you would like to Volunteer, they would be delighted for any help, please contact the school and they will put you in touch with the relevant Parents Association member or just send a ‘PM’ on the Tullyallen National School Facebook page. The Sport’s Day is due to be held on the 12th of June 2022. This is a great opportunity for the entire community to come together and raise much needed funds for our school. Please show your support if you can.

Marie Keating Unit
The Marie Keating mobile unit will be outside Tullyallen Pharmacy on the 16th of June for anyone who has concerns they might like to discuss. The mobile information unit is stocked with take-home information leaflets and packs on the various cancers. The Marie Keating Foundation nurses can talk to people in a private area on board the unit about any concerns that they may have about cancer, either for themselves or for someone else such as a family member or friends. But the Pharmacy would stress that if you have any immediate or pressing concerns to contact your GP rather than waiting.
