Duleek Women’s Forum
Tuesdays 31st January 7th and 14th February we have Line Dancing and 21st February we have Down Memory Lane. We meet in Duleek Courhouse at 10.30am each Tuesday.
Duleek Meals on Wheels
The A.G.M will take place on Tuesday 21st February at 8pm in Duleek Parish Centre. All Welcome.
Community Employment Vacancies
We have a number of Community Employment vacancies based in Duleek, Bellewstown and Slane.
There are various positions for Groundworkers who would maintain local sports grounds, church grounds, graveyards etc, Tour Guides who offer museum tours and Caretakers who would maintain car park, grounds & meeting rooms.
Eligibility for CE is generally linked to those who are 21 years or over and in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment for 1 year or more or 18 years and over for certain disadvantaged groups. Your eligibility will have to be verified by the Department.

Duleek & Bellewstown Active Retirement
Meet on the 1st Wednesday of every month in the Duleek Parish Centre Duleek at 2pm. On Wednesday the 1st of February a representative from Re-Mind will give a talk on the prevention of Alzheimer’s Disease. New members welcome. Bowls continue every Tuesday in Duleek Parish Centre at 2pm new members welcome.
Duleek Adult Book Club
Meet on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 5.30pm in Duleek Library. Participants can meet with other book lovers for discussions on different reads and to swap book recommendations. New members are always welcome but check with library staff regarding available spaces.

Feel Good Project

Albion Rovers Girls Soccer
Was your daughter born between 2007 and 2016 and have an interest in soccer? If so, Albion Rovers FC might be the place to go. Couch to 5k is back
The Glen Emmets have been running their Couch to 5k program for seven years now, and hundreds of participants will testify to that. So they are back by popular
Training starts Monday February 6th. There was a sign up last Friday night in the clubhouse and places are limited so if all the spaces weren’t snapped up at the weekend, you can revolut 086-3203675 to secure your place before they are all taken. This is done on a first come first served basis. Training is Monday at 7.30pm & Thursday at 7.30pm for 8 weeks and each coached session lasts one hour. This caters for all abilities and levels of fitness. All participants are divided into groups with people of similar ability and costs just €40. Why not sign up and kick start your fitness in style.
Parish News
We take this opportunity to express thanks to all our Ministers of the Word for their commitment in proclaiming God’s Word in our liturgical celebrations throughout the Church Year. Our next adoration date will be Friday 3rd of February.
If you have any stamps from Christmastide post Mr. Moonan collects stamps for the Medical Missionaries of Mary. All stamps are much appreciated, and they are a great help to funding the missionary work of the MMMs. Stamps can also be left in the sacristy.
The parish is trying to develop an Adoration Team for Church: Placing the Monstrance with Blessed Sacrament on Altar before Mass, placing Blessed Sacrament back into the Tabernacle and bringing monstrance back into sacristy. They hope to develop a team which could help with at present the First Friday of the Month before Mass and the Fridays during Lent. (7pm-7.25pm). To facilitate congregational singing, the parish is looking for a backup person to assist with music slides projector: Approx 2.5 hours a week including Mass, 1 hour to do slides, 20 minutes to set up projector, 10 minutes to pack away after Mass. Susan who assists at present is happy to do the slides and send on, so that brings it down to 1.5. hours we week including Mass. If you can assist with at present: Contact Fr. Lotto Results
The Glen Emmets Lotto draw sponsored by The Morning Star took place on Tuesday 24th January and the result is as follows: Grand Prize €10,000 with no winner. The numbers drawn were 2,8,13 & 14. The Lucky Dip winners of €25 were Colette Monaghan, Pat Smith, Ger Carley & Kathleen Connell. So for the first time in a long while there will now be 2 Lotto Draws as the pot of €10,000 will be capped and the draw for this will be run until it is won. But now you will be entered into a second draw which kicks off this week at €1,000. Two Jackpots, Two Draws, Two Chances and every ticket entered is entered into the 2 draws. You can see this online on the Glen Emmets Facebook page & tickets are on sale in Centra Tullyallen or go onto the Glen Emmets Web page where you can set up your weekly draw numbers & payment. Getting Fit for 2023
Get 2023 off to a healthy start. The Irish Life Steps Challenge and Ireland Lights up are back and by taking part in the Irish Life Step Challenge you can track your steps and the help the club to be in with a chance to win some O’Neills vouchers. All you have to do is register on the “My Life” app. Once downloaded and you’ve completed your profile, go to 1: “Challenges” 2: Click into “Leinster GAA–Every Step Counts” 3: At the top you will see the leader, tap into this and scroll down until you see “Glen Emmets GFC”. In addition The Glen Emmets Healthy clubs Ireland Lights Up weekly walk in collaboration with Operation Transformation will return on Wednesday January 11th. The Glen Emmets walkway lights up and is running EVERY night, the organizers ask as many people as possible to take part every night. Each lap is over 500m….3 laps for a mile, 10 laps for 5K. This is suitable for all ages, families and multiple generations particularly welcome. Please spread the word these walks are for our entire community, not just members.
Irish Dancing
Nally School of Irish Dancing takes place in the Glen Emmets, Thursdays 3.30 to 4.30pm. Beginners are welcome and it is a great way to get fit & have fun and make friends through Irish Dancing. There is the option of competitive and non-competitive classes girls & boys are welcome, aged 5+ This is a high standard of training in a safe & friendly environment and with encouragement students will gain confidence, enhance their personal skills and learn the importance of working as part of a team. Valentines Day
The lads and lassies in Tullyallen Macra are not letting the grass grow under their feet as they are getting ready for Valentines Day which will be upon us before we blink. They are hosting a Mr and Mrs Night and say this is the ultimate test to see how well you know your partner. Word has gone out to everyone to join them in Dollies on the 18th of February for what’s set to be a great night of pints, music and craic and they say that you might even find your own Valentines if you play your cards right. Music will be played by ‘Reverb’ and going by past events, this promises to be a great show as they always have the crowd hopping. Events kick off at 8pm and if you fancy chancing your arm by taking part in the actual show, couples are asked to contact 086-0366323 to register your interest.
