Monasterboice Tourism and Tidy Towns.

In honour of National Volunteer Week, it’s fitting to pay tribute to the Committee members who put so much time and effort into making Monasterboice Tourism & Tidy Towns Group what it is. There is a lot of work goes on in the background to enable all the projects come to fruition.

From weekly and monthly meetings; time spent planning, doing and maintaining; photos taken and editing to keep social media platforms up to date; administration, the committee members take it all in their stride and are proud to volunteer in the fantastic Community that is Monasterboice.

The committee is made up as follows: Sean McCormack Chairperson, Kathryn Moran Secretary, Audrey Dunne Asst. Secretary, Charlie Brodigan Treasurer, Eileen Smyth Youth Liaison Officer, Deirdre Duggan PRO, Declan Healy Litter Co-ordinator, Kathleen Smyth Artistic Director, Alison Finglas Group Rep for LTTT, LSG, LCDC; Roseanne Donegan Road Safety Co-ordinator. While everyone on the committee plays their part, the conductor who keeps everything running smoothly is secretary, Kathryn Moran. From organising and attending meetings, agendas, liaising with County Council, Funding applications, correspondence, not to mention the trojan work put in to submit the National Tidy Towns application. Kathryn plays a pivotal part in the success of the Group. Without her encouragement, ideas and administrative help, many of the projects simply wouldn’t get done, so Kathryn, the ‘Team’ send you a big “Thank You”.

The committee also extend a very big ‘Thank You’ to Dan Healy and Oonagh McCabe, our two C.E. workers and volunteers. Dan and Oonagh do tremendous work and the organisation would be lost without them.

Projects they have and continue to work on will be their legacy in Monasterboice for many years to come.

It sounds like a fantastically exciting morning and, of course, all proceeds go to the wonderful charity that is MS Ireland.
