The 4 Lucky Dip winners of €25 each are James Ausden, Jamie Matthews, Ben Devine & Pat Brady. Next week’s draw is for €8,200. You can see this online on the Glen Emmets Facebook page & tickets are on sale in Centra Tullyallen or go onto the Glen Emmets Web page where you can set up your weekly draw numbers & payment. Clubrooms Space

Attention all Yoga, Core, Dance, Art Teachers etc. The Glen Emmets in the village have fine clubrooms that are available for rental some mornings & evenings. The 116sqm room is bright, spacious, has wooden floors, doors out to the balcony, so it can be well ventilated if needed, there are kitchen facilities, toilets & lots of parking. Why not contact any member of the club or click onto their facebook page & make contact from there?

Toy Tractor Run

What a day for it. The younger members of the parish showed up in their droves for Tullyallen’s first ever Mini Tractor Run. Toy Tractors, Cars, Busses, Walkers, Scooters, you name it. The call was put out by the ‘Waking Ned’ OsKaRs cast and the wee ones didn’t disappoint–140 children to be precise. Well done to the organizers and to the participants. A massive thanks to Stephen and Oisin Healy from Tullyallen Agri Services for leading out the young farmers and thanks to Garda Aidan Ryan for being on site. Facebook was alight with photos galore – there were lots of happy faces for another well-organized family friendly event. If you have access to the internet, it is well worth looking at the video showing the kids in all their splendour.

Table Quiz

Get the thinking caps on. The Father Ted Team taking part in the upcoming OsKaRs are organizing a table quiz in the Morning Star, Friday 7th October at 8pm. Fr. Ted fancy dress is optional but there will be a prize for the best dressed, so it would definitely be worth coming on down for the craic alone. A table of 4 people costs just €40 and there promises to be lots of entertaining surprises on the night.

Dance Workshop

The Cast of Veronica Guerin in our OsKaRs are running a Dance Workshop this Saturday, 24th September in the Glen Emmets function room. This is split into 2 age groups. Ages four to seven year olds are 3 to 4pm and ages seven to thirteen year olds are 4.15 to 5.15pm. Irish Hip hop Champions Aine Carolan and Kacey Flanagan will be passing on their expertise and entry is €7 with all proceeds going towards the OsKaRs fundraising team. This promises to be a great experience for everyone who goes along and there will be face painting and a disco on the day.

School Bus Protest

Parents of Louth. Have your children been denied a school bus ticket by Bus Eireann? There will be a protest outside the Bus Eireann depot in Dundalk this Wednesday September 21st at 1.30pm. The organizers are asking for all the support they can get. If you have the time, they would love you to go along and show your support. They say it is vital to keep the pressure on the powers that be, as it is for all the children in the country. They have said that the message for everyone to ‘take the bus’ doesn’t make sense as everyone who has applied cannot get a seat.

Men’s Shed

Our men’s shed has added another string to their bow with the very first plants from the Polycarbonate Tunnel now available at the Shed. Great work from Noel, Jim & Brendan last week potting the plants. Spider plants are very effective in cleaning indoor air and live for 20 to 25 years when well cared for. They are great indoor decorations, increase humidity and are very therapeutic. Just pm the page or call into the Shed if you would like one and to support our Shed.

The Men’s Shed continues to meet up on Tuesday & Fridays 10am to 1pm & the workshop is open every day. Tullyallen Men’s Shed is a dedicated friendly & welcoming meeting place where local men come together & have said on their Facebook page “there’s plenty of laughter, chat & tea, biscuits & even a bit of work thrown in. They have been welcoming new members in recent times and are open to new members; just call in & they will show you the ropes.
