St Brendan’s Hurling Club annual Golf Classic fundraiser takes place over two days of the August Bank Holiday weekend, Saturday July 30th and Bank Holiday Monday August 1st at Ballyheigue Golf Club. €100 per team of 4, 4-Ball Am-Am. Ardfert Historical Society

Ardfert Historical Society committee offer our condolences to our members Sheila and Phil Healy, Brandonwell and their family on the recent death of Sheila’s brother Canon Moss O’Connell, Diocese of Salford, England and formerly of Lisereen, Abbeydorney. Rest In Peace Canon Moss.

We also pay tribute to a proud Ardfert man Tom O’Riordan, Tubrid Cross, who died last Monday. Tom who was an Olympic athlete and an accomplished journalist was always very proud of his home village and we offer our condolences to his family in Dublin and to all his brothers and sisters and their families in Ardfert, Waterford, USA and Australia. May Tom Rest In Peace.

A reminder that our Ardfert Village guided walk takes place this Thursday 30th June at 8pm, beginning at Ardfert Church. All welcome to this free event which will last about one hour.

Ann Woulfe wins Crotta Lotto jackpot

There was great demand for Crotta hurling club weekly lottery tickets at the weekend with everyone striving their best to win the Big Jackpot of 9,200.

Herbert’s Bar, Kilflynn was the venue for the weekly lotto draw on Monday 20th June. The Four numbers drawn out of the drum by the independent observer: Graham Harris, Clounsillagh, Lixnaw were 1,9, 17 and 28 There was One winner of the 9,200 Jackpot. Congratulations to Ann Woulfe, Rea, Kilmorna, Listowel. who scooped the Clubs Big Lotto Jackpot. Ann is great supporter of the club and of the weekly lotto and bought her lucky ticket online www.clubforce.com, and was the toast of Kilflynn and beyond on Tuesday afternoon as the news of her big win circulated and Ann is looking forward to be presented with her cheque of €9,200. Comedy Night

The hilarious comedy Further Ted stars comes to Kilflynn on Saturday night 9th July. Further Ted, features two of the Father Ted’s series most popular cameo’s ‘Father Damo’ (Joe Rooney) and the country singer ‘Eoin McLove” (Patrick McDonnell).

Coming to the Venue in Parker’s Pub, Kilflynn on Saturday night 9th July at 8.30p.m, the show includes both Joe and Patrick’s acclaimed solo stand up acts, plus an array of characters that promises to make this show like no other. Split the Bucket

The draw for the June Kilflynn Community Together Split the Bucket will take place Saturday, 2nd of July in Parker’s Pub, Kilflynn at 10:00pm.

There is still time to get your entries in (as many as you like) before Saturday night’s draw! It could be your lucky Night! We have buckets at various businesses around Kilflynn:–Parkers Pub, Herbert’s Bar and Zam Zam Kebab.

The concept of the draw is simple, simply place your €2 into the envelope at the venue, write your name and phone on the envelope and you could possibly ‘split the bucket!’

Funds raised will be used for projects that will benefit and improve Kilflynn. Your support is greatly appreciated.

Cemetery Masses

Mass will be celebrated in Kyrie Eleison, on Tuesday 5th July 8.00 p.m. and in St. Mary’s, Kilflynn, on Wednesday 6th July at 8.00 p.m. and in Killahan Cemetery, Wednesday 13th July at 8.00 p.m.

Annual Mass At Rath Cemetery, Tralee will be celebrated on Wednesday July 13th at 7.30 p.m. It will be in place of the 6.10pm Mass in St. John’s Church that evening. It would be appreciated if families attend to their own graves prior to the Mass.

KILMOYLEY

Community Care Lotto

There was no winner of the €10,000 jackpot for the 20th of June 2022. Numbers drawn by Mary O’Donoghue were 1,27,28,30. The €50 winner was Paddy Joe O’Connor, Kilcooley and the two €30 winners were Eilish Flaherty, Baltovin and Margaret Corridon, Ballinprior.

Ardfert Historical Society

The society will host its next free guided tour on Thursday 30th June at 8pm: A Guided Walk of Ardfert Village. All are welcome to attend. Meet at Ardfert Parish Church at 8pm the tour will last approximately one hour.

Congratulations to Cillard club players Sinéad Flynn and Hayley Fitzgerald O’Connor who finished first and second in the Long Puck in Kerry Community Games which was held in Castleisland on Saturday. The girls now progress to the next stage in Carlow in August.CamogieHard luck to the Kerry U16s who lost to Down in the Tesco championship at St. Rynaghs, Banagher, Co. Offaly on Sunday and to the Cillard players who togged out.The Kerry senior team plays Galway this Saturday in their final group game having already qualified for next weekend’s quarter finals in Portlaois.
