North Kerry: The U13’s played Crotta O’Neills in the North Kerry Under 13 ‘B’ Hurling Championship Final, in the ARC, Ardfert on Sunday morning. The sides were greeted by dry but blustery conditions, and despite all the overnight rain, the pitch was in excellent condition. Kilmoyley started well playing against the significant breeze. They had a very strong first half and managed to keep the score to 1 point a piece at the break. With the wind for the second half they really kicked on playing with the same intensity. An early second half goal settled them and from there, they pushed on and finished strongly with Mikey Corridon adding a second goal to see Kilmoyley run out convincing winners on a scoreline of 2-7 to 0-3. Man of the Match and team captain Mikey Corridon received the Michael O’Connell Memorial Shield from Joe Walsh.
This was a fantastic team performance and a wonderful way to finish out the year. Thanks to Crotta O’Neills for a very sporting game and to the referee and his match officials. Finally, thank you to all parents and mentors for your continued support throughout the year. Check out the Kilmoyley hurling club Facebook page to see some of the celebratory photos.
